Upcoming Exhibition
Land, Light, Legacy
A Joint Exhibition by John Caruana, Silvana Camilleri Tabone and Pierre Attard
Curated by Kris Debono
An intimate journey through Malta's landscapes, light, and layered history. John Caruana, Silvana Camilleri Tabone and Pierre Attard present original works exploring the island's soul — from windmills, Maltese landscapes, heritage art and human sculptures.
About the Exhibition
Land, Light, Legacy brings together original acrylic paintings that celebrate the textures, colours, and stories of Malta. Three artists — John Caruana, Silvana Camilleri Tabone and Pierre Attard — each bring their own voice to the island's ancient heritage, creating a bold and deeply personal conversation between tradition and contemporary vision.

Painter
John Caruana
Acrylics
John Caruana is a Maltese contemporary artist whose work draws deeply from the island's rich visual heritage — its architecture, symbols, and the vibrant colours of everyday life. Working primarily in acrylics, John creates bold, layered compositions that balance geometric precision with expressive energy.
His paintings often feature iconic Maltese motifs — the cross, the balcony, the windmill — reimagined through a contemporary lens. Each work is an act of reinterpretation: honouring tradition while pushing it into new visual territory.
For Land, Light, Legacy, John presents seven original acrylic paintings that explore identity, heritage, and the enduring spirit of Malta.
Painter & Photographer
Silvana Camilleri Tabone
Ċmajra
Chalk pastels, oils, pens, watercolours
Silvana Camilleri Tabone is a Maltese artist and photographer who works across chalk pastels, oils, pens, and watercolours. Known by her artistic name Ċmajra, her work is deeply introspective — exploring themes of identity, solitude, inner strength, and the quiet landscapes of the human soul.
Her paintings often juxtapose natural imagery — bare trees, frozen surfaces, reflections in water — with emotional depth, inviting the viewer into a space of stillness and contemplation.
For Land, Light, Legacy, Silvana presents twelve original works that trace the inner and outer landscapes of Malta and the self.
Sculptor
Pierre Attard
Sculpture
Pierre Attard is a Maltese sculptor whose work explores the human form with quiet intensity. Working in terracotta and stone, Pierre creates figures that speak of connection, contemplation, and the enduring bonds between people.
His sculptures are intimate in scale but monumental in feeling — each piece capturing a moment of stillness, togetherness, or inner reflection. The textures of his materials carry the warmth of the hand that shaped them.
For Land, Light, Legacy, Pierre presents eight original sculptures that celebrate the human presence within Malta's landscape and legacy.
